Norwalk Barn Stabilization and Exterior Restoration

Challenge

After Hurricane Sandy, this barn in Norwalk, CT was in terrible condition. It was completely unusable and near falling apart due to a large Oak tree falling on top of the structure pushing the 2nd floor walls out.

Solution

We were able to mobilize and with our expertise figure out a plan that would bring the structure back to its original condition. Our crews used large industrial pullies and engenieered new bracing systems to pull the 2nd floors walls straight. After 2 months the project was competed on time and on budget.

The devastating Hurricane of 2012 left this barn in Norwalk, CT destroyed. As you can see, the structure itself was very unstable and needed serious repair work to ensure that the building could be saved.

The barn was completely restored to working condition. A Benjamin Moore solid stain was used to give the barn a classic feel. Full exterior paint and structural repairs were necessary to safely restore the barn.

The roof of the Smith Street Barn in Norwalk, CT was also in need of restoration. Using GAF Timberline products, we were able to put a durable and lasting roof on this historical building. Our client was thrilled with the finished project, and we were able to preserve a slice of Norwalk's history!
