Wethersfield CT DOT Maintenance Building - Epoxy Flooring and Painting
Challenge
The project was started in late fall, which made it impossible for us to paint the ceiling at that time. The GC’s schedule did not allow them to wait to for use to paint the joist before the conduits were installed on the ceiling. By the time the weather improved enough to allow us to paint the ceiling 70% of wiring and electrical were installed. This meant that we had to work around this newly installed wiring, the G.C. did provide us with a change order for this work but the schedule to complete this work did not allow for any extra time. The ceiling is 38% of my budget and 60% of my allotted hours for the project, so is our current struggle on the site is to find a more efficient way to coat the joist since just the joists are getting painted, not the concrete deck.
Solution
Renovation and full upgrade the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation facility that included:
- - Painting of steel joist ceiling
- - Painting of walls and doors in the facility
- - Installation of epoxy flooring in mechanical rooms
