Union Station Canopy and Bus Terminal, Hartford, CT Historical Restoration
Challenge
All work had to be completed on a fully functional train and bus depot in an extremely busy downtown area. The team worked extended hours and weekends in order to complete the project in a condensed time frame of 90 days. Additional precautions were taken given the age and potential presence of lead.
Solution
Repair and Restoration of original Hartford Train Station canopy.
- Repair and paint all structural steel on canopy structure
- Dispose of lead containing paint and follow all EPA RRP regulations
- Installation of new LED lighting fixtures
- Installation of new custom down spouts
- Repair of concrete bases along entire length of structure
- Installation of new signage.
